Midland & English Cross Country Relays Print
Two cross country events coming up.

Midland cross country relays Saturday 17 October at Bramshall Road Park, Uttoxeter

The men & ladies run over 5km with both races starting at 2pm.  There are 4 to the men's team and 3 to the ladies' team.  We may enter as many teams as we like.

This is a really good introduction to cross country running and is an opportunity for us, as a club, to be at the same race location.

If you would like to run please confirm by email by close on 6 October.

English National cross country relays Saturday 31 October at Mansfield

Ladies 3km (3 to a team) at 2:05pm

Men 5km (4 to a team) at 2.40pm

This is a top class event when we as a club get the chance to run against the best cross country runners in England.

We usually enter two men's teams (but could enter more).  It has been some years since we last ran a ladies' team and this year it would be good for the ladies to return to the event (you are certainly good enough).

If you would like to run please confirm by email by close on 6 October.

Regards.

Craig

British Masters XC relays, Long Eaton Print
Hi,

for the last four or five years we have entered teams for the vets cross country relays.

This season, the relays are on Saturday 24th October at a new venue of West Park, long Eaton.

Each leg is 3k. The age group teams are:

W35 (3)
W45 (3)
W55(3)
W65(3)

M35(5)
M45(5)
M55(4)
M65(3)

If you could pass the details on and can you let me know if you are interested in running. Teams need to be entered by the first week in October.

If you've never run in these competitions before, there's nothing to fear, you won't be out of your depth by any means and if you ask those who have run in similar competitions they can confirm that you might surprise yourself. Other teams can often provide a couple of good runners but few clubs have got the strength in depth that Sparkhill has got.

Details can be found here .

Regards,

Darren

Proposed change to membership fees Print
The attention of all of our Sparkhill Harriers members is drawn to the proposal to change our membership fees structure and levels for the forthcoming year 2015/2016.

The aims of the proposed changes are to simplify the structure and to improve the collection of club membership fees.

The main change proposed is that the current Red and Blue membership categories be replaced with a single Standard Senior membership.

Current:

Red - £105 pa

Blue - £45 pa plus £2 per training session attended

Proposed:

Standard - £75 pa with no further fees for training sessions

Gold membership to remain (to be proposed at £110 pa - currently £150)

Junior membership to remain unchanged (£20 pa and £1 per training session)

Please attend the annual general meeting on Monday if you wish to discuss and participate in this decision!!!

See here for details

Rob Mills

Club Secretary
