Blithfield Sprint Triathlon, 29th July 2012 Print

Krissie Davies writes >

This is my second year at this well organised event in a lovely location, and thankfully for the duration of the race the weather held out and conditions were perfect. I came out of the water 3rd female, but lost a few places after a concentration lapse in T1 when I put running instead of cycling shoes on and then had to change back, every second counts! I managed to hold my position on the bike which as my weakest discipline I was quite pleased with but then lost another place in T1 and one on the run.

47/127 overall and 8th female.

  750m Swim   T1  20k Bike  T2  5k Run:  Time

Blithfield standard distance triathlon, 31st July 2011 Print

Krissie Newton writes >

Blithfield was my first standard distance triathlon, consisting of a stunning 1.5k open water swim in the morning sun around Blithfield reservoir, a scenic 40k bike section around the Staffordshire countryside and a not so enjoyable rutted and rocky 10k run section which my racing flats did not appreciate. I very much enjoyed the whole event and was pleased to only drop one position in my age category from the swim to bike, as the bike section is usually a disaster for me. Overall results:

Total time - 2.40.42
Overall position - 140th / 6th in category

  1500m Swim   T1  40k Bike  T2  5k Run:  Time
 140 Krissie Newton
  27:33 (5)
 1:18:55 (6)

  51.14 (6)

Category position in brackets.

Really good event, cold running in a wet tri-suit in March though ;-)
